Eifion is the fifth generation of blacksmiths to work at the family forge in Dinas Cross, near Newport, Pembrokeshire.

Although improvements and extensions have been added, the forge is situated on the same site as it was in 1860, when it was first built. The nature of the forge’s work has changed greatly over the years, however, hand forging and fabricating items of a high quality to meet individual customer requirements has remained a consistent feature. Eifion’s apprenticeship started 18 years ago working alongside his father Graham and grandfather Jim. He is now self-employed and has undertaken a large and varied number of commissions including commemorative gates, railings, benches and garden sculptures. Eifion also handcrafts items for the interior including candlesticks, curtain poles, clocks and fireirons.

Please take some time to view the portfolio pages that include work made by the Thomas family which will hopefully demonstrate that Eifion can produce exterior and interior ironwork to meet most budgets and requirements.

Eifion’s work is created using a combination of traditional blacksmithing and the latest welding and cutting techniques.
